NEW! Individual Pages for Links - Human Generated Web

January 5, 2009 – 12:09 pm

Welcome all back from the extended holiday.   On this first working day of 2009, we would like to announce that each Bundle now links to an individually created link page for the link.    This will be a common page that will be shared by all bundles containing that link in question.    It will have all the descriptions used for that link, a larger thumbnail, photo or embed.     Soon we will implement commenting and rating on the links.

The point that we are moving to is that Links are DATA.  We Analyze the properties of the various links based on the Bundles that link in.   In doing so we move closer towards a more holistic understanding of the human generated web.

To simplify.    Lets look at a new LINK Page for Example.

This is a page devoted to a specific link.    You can see that this particular link lives in two bundles created by two different people with different themes and descriptions.    Got it?!!

It is in the infancy right now, however you can see how this can lead to massive organization and analysis of human generated Data.

Enjoy!

  2. Why did you change it so you can’t control the anchor text of the link?

  3. Many reasons behind it. Mainly because we want to promote the link page and creating Links as data. However we would consider swapping the site link and the Link out around for now.

    Looking for more feedback.

  4. Thanks for responding. We would love to see you make that exchange. If I understand correctly, that would make it so we could control the anchor text again.

    Thanks

Thanks for your feedback. We are looking to switch it around for reasons other than the anchor text as we are not actively cultivating the LinkBuilding/DirectorySubmit community.

However if users do want to create a quality content Bundle and end up promoting their site as a by-product of this- then this is of course acceptable.

  6. I always create quality content. Most of my bundles have over 7 bumps. I am just saying it adds an extra incentive to interact on the site when there is SEO value.

I really like Youbundle. I think it has a lot of potential. Thanks for the help.

  7. I’m working on some other cool stuff with the links page - hopefully, it’ll be up and running soon.

Lots of other features in the developer bag too, so stay tuned :)
